“My first memories of a cello? My parents took me to a presentation as an eight-year old at the local music school. All the instruments that they offered were presented there, readily laid out for youngsters to try. I remember being fascinated by the bassoon, and I also tried out the violin. Then at the end of the day I walked into the cello classroom. There was a single empty chair in the middle of the room. A cello lay next to it. I went to sit and took up the instrument. Did I try to play on the strings? I don’t remember well, but what I recall clearly was the instantly powerful feeling of the cello in my hands. It felt like home, a feeling that I wanted to keep and have experienced ever since.”
Lessons

Sebastiaan van den Bergh has been teaching children from 7 years old up to adult players. You would be very welcome to have a trial lesson to see if my teaching connects to your wishes. I am available to teach at my home, a different venue or at your residence.
